Movin Up In The World

So... many of you may not believe this, but I finally got my very own smart phone.  I know what you are thinking... "how could she live without it" well, it was rather easy, actually.  You cant miss something that you have never had, and I was bound and determined not to be one of those moms who are looking down at their phone more then they are watching their children.  AND...I didn't want to pay for it, we are on a single income, so every dollar helps.

Kyle has had numerous iphones and windows phones, and couldn't handle seeing me with a flip phone anymore.  He said that it was embarrassing HAHA...only to him, I had no problem with it :)

Well, I guess its time that I get with the "smart phone" movement and so, here she is... my very own pretty pink phone... she sure is pretty :)

I have really enjoyed being able to take pictures with it and not have to carry my big Nikon around, and I love seeing everyone's pictures on instagram!  I have to be disciplined with it though.  I cant be one of those moms that stare at it instead of watching their children.  But, we went to dinner the other night, and Luke was getting fussy... you bet your butt I pulled up Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and he didn't make a peep!  Not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing that I did that, but either way, it saved my sanity and everyone else's in the restaurant!  And, hey, I don't do it all the time, so I am okay with it... for now :)

We're Going To The Zoo Zoo Zoo...

Blake had a field trip the Point Defiance Zoo with his preschool class and we had so much fun!  I took both boys...by myself...without a stroller, and I am so proud of all of us.  The boys did great... they listened and stayed together, and Blake had so much fun running around with his friends, and I had a lot of fun talking to their Mamas :)  I don't get to see most of them because they work, and don't drop off and pick up their kiddos, so it was fun to see who all the little ones belonged to, and we even have some play dates in the works!  It's always a plus when you like the moms of the kids  your kiddos are friends with.

I don't remember my mom coming to any of my fieldtrips, she will correct me if I am wrong, but she always had to work or she had my brother, so I don't think that she was ever really able to attend, so it is really fun for me to be part of all this.  I soaked it all in, and it was a really good day!  We stopped at Starbucks (chocolate milk) on the way there, had a blast at the zoo, and got ice cream on the way home.  I should have asked someone to take our picture there... didn't even think of it, but here are some of the boys...

Shhhh, Dont Tell Daddy

Blake likes to get up and lay in our bed in the morning and this morning, Kona was whining to get up there with him. Blake says, "I wont tell Dad she was up here" HAHA... We kinda made it a rule not to have dogs on our bed anymore, especially this time around... black dog...white sheets...totally obvious!  Well, I may have bent the rules this morning, but they were so cute together!!  I am just glad that they are such good friends :)

Oh, and I will have to wash the sheets today!  She left her little black fuzz everywhere!!

Bring on SPRING!!

Today is a rather nasty day, but we have had some great weather this last week, and we took full advantage of it!  We played in the yard, ate lunch outside, started on my new garden boxes and brought in some dirt.  LOVE Spring... that little crisp that's in the air, and days are starting to last longer... my favorite time of year!  Everything is starting to wake up and grow!  Oh, yeah... my neighbors came out of hibernation too... Its funny how we don't see anyone for a few months and then all of a sudden, we are all waving and smiling again :)  The few neighbors that we have are so great!  Everyone is so helpful and so caring.  We are really lucky...

Starting of Spring always means the Daffodil Parade

Ray and Kay gave me this Hummingbird feeder for Christmas... I LOVE IT!!

First 2 garden boxes... 5 more to go!!

Our little cowboy... He loves my boots...and he loves to be outside.

I am so ready for spring!!  It just makes me happy :)

Oh My Goodness, What A Day That Was!

I should have realized that my day was going to turn to hell in a hand basket as early as 9:30 that morning when I was running around the house frantically looking for either set of my car keys... I was so frustrated almost 45 minutes later and then I finally found them...where you ask?  In my darling kiddos Lego bucket.  Luke has a thing for keys, so I am pretty sure that he had something to do with that...

Off to see my Papa!  My dad has Thursdays off, so we thought that we would go over and cause a little trouble and hang out with my Dad before his 2:30 dentist appointment.  We ate Popsicles, played with golf clubs and the kids pretended to ride on Grandpas motorcycles until we had to leave around 2 to go and pick up Ryan.

Kyles brother, Ryan goes to Bates inTacoma, and both Monty and Tammy were unable to get him from school, so they asked me, and of corse, no problem... While I was waiting for Ryan, I had a cop pull behind me and I thought oh crap... I knew I was parked in a loading zone, but that's what I was doing, I was " loading" Ryan haha he was nice and told me that I could stay but shouldn't do it again, and then said...do you know your tabs are expired?  $h!t, I thought to myself... Whoops... I told the cop that my husband usually takes care of those things, and we have been really busy, and that I was sooo sorry.  He said that he wasn't going to document it or anything but that I needed to get it fixed " thank you officer". Phew...dodged a bullet... Then Right as rain, another one pulls up on a bike.  Knocked on my window.... Got the same song and dance that I shouldn't park there and I explained that I had already talked to another officer and that he said that it was okay today... Then Kona saw him...oh yeah, I had the dog in the car, and when she started barking at the bike cop, the little ones awoke in a screaming fit! He felt sorry for me at that point and quickly reminded me that I needed to get new tabs and rode off... Are you kidding me!  Two cops in 10 minutes?  Must have been my lucky day right?

It gets better... As we started to drive to drop Ryan off, my car wouldn't work in drive, it's like it was in neutral... SERIOUSLY...so I got to a parking lot, and realized that I could drive it in D2 whatever that is... Just the little knob after the drive button.  Talked to Kyle and he told me not to go over 30... So I putted along from tacoma to meridian in Puyallup with flashers on and cars whizzing past me. Then she just gave up...car decided not to work in the middle of an intersection on Meridian during rush hour... BUT, she still worked in reverse :). So I reversed her into another parking lot...Napa parking lot of all places.

Kyle came and got Ryan and the dog, and my mom and Grandma came and got me and the kids.  Oh, did I mention that our Truck was getting its breaks done then too, so we didn't even have the truck.  Kyle drives a work truck too... THANK GOD... Otherwise  he wouldn't have had a car to come and get anyone!  Me and the kids went back to my parents and Kyle was getting to breaks done on our truck.  Then my dad took the car dolly down to pick up my car which had its share of problems... My poor dad didn't get home until 10:30 last night and we didn't get home until 10...

My kids napped  maybe half an hour, I didn't have any pajamas or clothes or diapers with me.  I was exhausted and could hardly think and my poor dad had a hell of a time.  I held it all together until I got home last night and then just everything was so overwhelming, that is started to cry and then I  yelled at Kyle... Just out of exhaustion and because I was just emotional.  Totally not fair to him.  We all did our best yesterday and thanks to my parents and grandma, we got through it... If not for them, I Don't know what we would have done.

lessons learned:  don't park in loading zones, don't let your tabs expire, I say "shit" way too much when I am stressed, because Blake kept telling me not to say bad words.  I learned that I can figure things out if I need too and stay calm in crazy circumstances, just to have a melt down later at home... And I have an amazing family to help me when I needed them.  Oh...and if you leave a dog in her crate too long, she will pee in it, and then step in it and then lay in it... Just the icing in the cake!

We have both come to the conclusion that we need to keep a bottle of Jack in the house!
