YAY for a GREAT check-up

Our biggest little man is getting to be so grown up.  When we used to do these cardiologist appointments, it was so hard on both me and Kyle.  It was a chaotic fiasco of both of us doing whatever we could to keep his attention and to keep him still... we would pull everything we could think of out of the diaper bad, pull up every app on our phones and pretty much give him anything that he wanted in order to get though this day of testing, and this year... it was like we had a different child.  He talked to the nurses, laid still, smiled, and even laughed.  Kyle and I were both amazed, and it is crazy what a difference a year can make.

All tests came back GREAT!  His heart looks just like it is supposed to, and is developing at the right pace. Blake's arteries will always be a little more narrow then average because they were stretched and re-positioned  but nothing serious or dangerous.  He is cleared for an and ALL activities.. sports, sky diving and bungee jumping :)   Right now, we are just really excited that we have a happy, healthy and energetic little man!

We LOVE you Booger Butt!!!

Blake's BIG Day

Well, tomorrow is the big day... it is Blake's annual cardiologist appointment.  I am nervous for two reasons - first, I am always nervous for these appointments because it has been an entire year since we were there last and many things can change, and also because Blake has a new cardiologist.   Dr Obyashi, who I LOVED, has moved to Connecticut so now, we are seeing Dr Kim.  We have seen him before, and in fact  he was the one that diagnosed Blake before any of the tests were even ran at Mary Bridge, so we are very confident in his abilities, but it just isn't the same.  I know we will gain a sense of comfort with him, just as we have with Dr Obayashi, but like I said, it just isn't the same.

We have about a 3 hour appointment tomorrow with an Ultrasound, ECO, and X-Ray, and since Blake has to sit really still (easier said then done for a 3 year old) we bring his favorite movie to keep him relaxed.  Also, this is a two parent appointment, not just because of its seriousness, but because its nice to have both mom and dad there when the nurses and Dr's are poking and prodding at your child... and we bring suckers...a lot of them!!

Wish us luck, and keep us in your thoughts and prayers that we have a good report to give!  Also, thank you to Grandma Tammy for watching Luke all day!  It would be really rough if we needed to bring him along also!

It is hard to believe that this is how he started...

 And, this is him now!
